The Halifax Lions came out hard during Tuesday evening's match-up against the Pictou County Weeks Crushers, and earned a point by tying in regulation time.

Unfortunately, at 4:15 of OT, Halifax native Geoff Hum skated into the Halifax zone and from a sharp angle beat Lions goalie Kody Blois on the short side. The final score ended up at 3-2.

It was a very entertaining game, with good back and forth action throughout 4 periods of play.

The Crushers recently made a number of very significant blockbuster trades, while the Lions rmade 2 small acquisitions during the trade period, in an attempt to replace 4 players who were called up to various QMJHL Clubs following the Christmas Break.

Certainly, with the talk around the League, one would have expected a much wider spread in the score, in favour of Pictour County. The Lions have tremendous heart and continue to produce with their work ethic.

With the tie, Halifax moves into 4th position in the Bent Division, just 9 points out of 2nd place while still having a few games in hand.

Halifax plays Pictou again on Thursday evening in New Glasgow... visits Dieppe on Sunday...,, and then play against the Crushers again on Tuesday the 19th in NEw Glasgow.

Halifax's next home game is Thursday January 21st against the Yarmouth Mariners.
